The ELCA’s work toward the reconciliation of church divisions includes Churches Uniting in Christ, an ecumenical covenant relationship of 11 Protestant churches of various streams of the Reformation. Bishop Eaton processed and participated in a historic and celebratory Pentecost communion service that lifted up the churches’ mutual recognition of ministries and commitment to racial justice and reconciliation.
