We wish to invite one and all to join us in this joyous service of Holy Communion – to gather and celebrate our unity in Christ. We will be joined in this time of celebration by our communion partners and neighbors here in Wilmington/New Castle County Delaware.
The Rev. William Gohl, Bishop for the Delaware/Maryland Synod of the ELCA, will preach and preside.
Please join the Lutheran Churches of New Castle County as we celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation with an evening service of Holy Communion celebrated by Bishop Gohl along with our communion partners. We thank the Rector and the people of Trinity Episcopal Parish for their hospitality for this wonderful once in a half-millennium event.
The service will begin at 4:00 PM with a small musical concert to help us gather into our worship space. We will be featuring joint choirs from the New Castle County area and beyond, along with many wonderful guests and surprises. Following the service all are invited for a reception to meet and mingle, share stories and to commemorate this very special anniversary.
The color of the day is red and all attendees are invited to wear red.
ELCA clergy and full communion partners (The Presbyterian Church USA, The Episcopal Church, Reformed Church in America, The United Church of Christ, The United Methodist Church, and the Moravian Church) are invited to vest and process – remember the color of the day is red.
