More than 50 Carroll residents poured cups of earth into a hole containing a recently planted Eastern Redbud tree Wednesday afternoon. The tree was one of 60 planted at the continuing care retirement community to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.
“As we plant this tree this day, we celebrate that each and every one of us is a branch of God’s tree,” Chaplain Jimmie Schwarz said.
