Pennsylvania Dutch Celebration (Reading, PA)

Pennsylvania Dutch Celebration: Schwarzwald Lutheran Church, 250 Church Lane Road, Reading, celebrates the 500th anniversary of the Lutheran Reformation Sept. 10. New Horizon Band performs in church pavilion 3 p.m. The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther and his wife Katie (played by Pastor Newhart and Kathy Fegley) visit in church sanctuary at 4 p.m. to describe their lives during the Reformation. A Pennsylvania Dutch sing-a-long will follow. Beginning at 5:15 p.m., a Pennsylvania Dutch dinner featuring pot pie, brats and sauerkraut, chow chow, shoofly pie and many other dutch treats will be served, birch beer will be provided and beer will be available for purchase. Happy Dutchmen will provide dinner music. Tickets are $5 with children 9 and under free. Purchase tickets by Sept. 5. A “will call” option provided. Call 610-779-3480.
