Lutheran and Catholic Churches in Roswell Observe 500th Anniversary of the Protestant Reformation

– In commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the beginning of the Protestant Reformation, Cross of Life Lutheran Church and St. Andrew Catholic Church, both of Roswell, will host an observance on Wednesday, April 26. The community is invited to join the two congregations from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Cross of Life for the event entitled “Dinner and Dialogue.” Attendees will enjoy a complimentary dinner, participate in lively table talk and ask questions of the two church leaders, Pastor Terri Collier-Stagner of Cross of Life and Father Dan Fleming of St. Andrew.

“The leadership from the highest levels of the Catholic and Lutheran churches have expressed gratitude to God as we approach this 500 year milestone,” said Father Dan. “Over the past 50 years, we have made great progress in an openness of dialogue and for the mutual recognition of our commonalities of purpose. In this spirit, we are proud to join forces with our Lutheran friends in the surrounding Roswell area and beyond as we jointly gather for this thought-provoking and inspirational look at the past and future.”
